So, Mr. Hoffman, are you really as stupid as that post is making you out to be? Why are you, as her father, allowing your child to get out of your sight, and expecting others to protect her where you will not? Oh, I agree, they're doing some illgal things, but I wouls recommend you keep your daughter where her rapist cannot get access -- next to you. If the church has a problem with that, you need to have a problem with them. Get a spine, boy.

As a Christian, while i understand there may some safety issue concerns child molestor attending church, esp if 100% supervision of children are not always possible, i agree with the writer , Jesus came and died for everyone and EVERYONE is entitled to redemption, and no, contrary what some may believe, while church are made of christians, no single christian attends church has monopoly over it, and in response to mimi comment, AS A FELLOW CHRISTIAN, i am disgusted by the way you used the word those folks almost as if people commited child molestation as a seperate category from rest of the humanity, how would YOU FEEL, if one day when your children grow up and made a mistake and people start to refer to him/her as "those things"

my daughter was molested by her half brother she was 3, he was almost 13 . I prosecuted him ,he was convicted. The court issued a no contact order against him. after the order was issued, his grandmother (the church choir director) started bringing him to my church every Sunday. in violation of the order then one Sunday he assaulted my daughter in the front row of the sanctuary. i reported it to the pastor and deacons. they said that they would take care of the problem. and then at the Christmas play, he was allowed to have contact with her again. i am furious that they are allowing my daughters rapist to come to my church, of which i might add he is not even a member of. someone please help me i need a good lawyer i want to bring suit against the church over me and my daughters right to not have to attend church with her assailant. i live in the wheeling, West Virginia area reply to garytheelectricman@yahoo.com it is time that someone stands up for the victims.

all churches should be shelled out and the homeless housed.without priestly help..read the headlines..there are more kid molesters in churches than anywhere else..at least 4 out of 10 priests are or have been kid molesters..i have worked in with churches also with the salvation army..also catholic welfare agencies..and have seen this all first hand..also the pope sweeps everything under the rug..i dont care what you say or think..all i can say is that next time you go to church think about what you are doing..people like yourself are supporting the molesters by keeping the doors open..if your family or one of your kids were molested by a neighbour or family member or even a good friend..would you still go to there house..i think not..so why go the molesters house meaning a church..all churches are 1 , just different buildings..but are all connected..also we confide in priests more than anyone else..een the law or government doesnt know that much about us..but when a child or even a adult is on the edge and feels like there is nowhere to turn..who do we go to or confide in..thats right a filthy rotten churchie..tell them everything..then they have all the ammo to use to get to us..this happened to me and many more just like me..and will go on for many years to come..as long as churches are standing..f the spiritual healing and their toungs..they are psychopaths..i had spiritual healing and remember it well it is just like yesterday to me..but it happened 14 years ago..whilst on the edge.a few churchies tok me into their church there wre around 7 people.doing their so caled spiritual healing..i was on edge felt really outcast in this world..so intheir little ceremont i was constantly being fonded and tole i was loved hands laid on..after doing toungues they put it in my mind that when i was pushed that i may fall but they would be there to catch me..it was all mind stuff.yes i did fall..felt good that night..until the blumen dirty things tried to run my life..then threatened me with the law as i did soething wrong that i could be charged with..thats where they moved in and made me pay..sexually..i was molested.just like i said i spilled my guts to the so called churchies they knew every little detail about me..then they used it to their advantage to get to me..so all churchies can go to hell..

Hi,

I usually do not respond to these...things. But I felt compelled to respond to you. I am a Christian and I go to church with my children. I DO believe in everyone's right to redemption; that all sinners should have the right to worship and heal; that crimes against defensless children ARE worse than other crimes simply because children ARE defensless and look to adults for protection. HOWEVER, I also believe that this country has gotten up-in-arms about the criminals rights so far that they now out-weigh the rights of their victims. People have the right to exist (and worship) without fear of viloence; yes, that includes the children that are less important, in your eyes, than those that would pray on them. You obbiously do not have children of your own. Churches can and do offer worship services focusing on recovery and that is, perhaps, where these folks belong. Afterall, it was not the rest of the congregation that commited the acts so why should they be made to suffer worry for their children in the Sunday School part of the church while they are in services? Most of the Christians I know, would NEVER want to impede someone's recovery and personal interactions with our Lord, but neither would they want to have their children share space with someone who has the propensity to devaste their lives. Perhaps you should try Christianity again and this time, leave out the organized religion aspect of it and just focus on the Word. Ultimately, Christians are merely human and are exposed to and are tempted by the same things as everyone else; in other words, we are not perfect and most of us accept that.

God bless
